How to Use the Baking Pan Converter
Choose the dimension unit and describe both pans. Pan A is the pan your recipe is written for; Pan B is the pan you want to use. Press Convert Pans to see each pan's base area and volume and the multiplier for the new pan.
How the ratio is calculated
Round pan area = π × diameter² ÷ 4; square pan area = side²; rectangular pan area = length × width.
Volume = base area × depth, so pans of different depths are compared fairly.
The multiplier is Pan B's volume divided by Pan A's volume.
Keep the same batter depth: a multiplier above 1 means the new pan takes more batter, below 1 means less.
